Rays send Pat Burell to DL

Tampa Bay’s Pat Burrell was sent to the 15-day DL on Sunday following a neck injury to the Rays’ DH.

Burrell, origanally from Eureka Springs, AR, has had a rough start in his first season with the Rays. He was hitting .250 with only 1 homerun before being place on the DL.

Burrell is the second Arkansan in the majors to go to the DL, following Dustin Moseley of the Angels, who went down earlier this season and has yet to return. Another Arkansan, Terry Tiffee, petentially could have had a spot on the Phillies roster this season, but has been out since spring training with a back injury.
